Very nice, very interesting idea.
One suggestion though, I wonder whether it would look more realistic if you recolored the petals, but left only the edges in B&W - kind of like how a normal rose changes color as it gets older, going brown at the edges and then getting closer and closer to the core...
But, even if you ignore that suggestion, cool shot.
